Marge Simpson for Playboy

Marge-Simpson-for-Playboy-A-Closer-Look-03-371x540 Marge-Simpson-for-Playboy-A-Closer-Look-02-388x540 It’s no secret that Marge Simpson is the November 2009 cover girl for Playboy magazine. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the cartoon, the magazine features a 3-page spread on everyone’s favorite blue-haired, yellow skinned mom. YOU GO MARGE!!

According to her interview, Marge appeared for honorable reasons, “I’m donating my hefty fee from this tasteful pictorial to SPHG – Saving and Preserving Historic Gazebos. Gazebos are disappearing, people, and they’re not coming back!” And yes, we’ve featured two sets of cartoon boobs in one day.

Parra x Vans Era

parra-vans-era-2
California’s favorite skate brand, Vans, recently partnered up with my favorite independent artist Parra to produce a limited version of the Era. The vulcanized lowtop draws inspiration from a number of sources, and features Parra’s cursive logo stitched into the tongue to go along with its white/orange/pink/robin’s egg blue color scheme.

Admiral Fall/Winter 2009 Navy Sneakers

Admiral was established in 1914 as the official outfitter of the British Royal Navy, so it’s only fitting that they visit the Peacoat-as-sneaker concept. Seen earlier this year with a pack of Vans Chukkas, Admiral takes it a step further by accenting the melton wool upper with a full 8-button double-breasted closure. To boot, the brand’s logo is even the insignia of a Navy Admiral.

Plato’s Atlantis….

alexander-mcqueen23alexander-mcqueen32

Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection was supposedly live streamed in October 6, 2009, however to my great disappointment and a couple million other pissed off people, the site crashed.. and live it was not! All the same McQueen made it up to his fans as in a show themed around Atlantis’ doom and our current global decline warped with a technological twist. Though not overly theatrical like many- a previous season, it featured more ready-to-wear items in a somewhat feminine goes amphibious manner, designs moved from green hues to an adaptation of blues and coral shaded translucent 3-dimensional pieces with gills(to aid with breathing of course) to finally second skinned diving-suits. Fabrics were digitally printed and shoes well.. they were almost high enough to wade through any rise in the sea level, but never-the-less conceptually beautiful. If this is what dressing for the global meltdown will entail I AM READY!! Here are a couple shots from the show.

Louis Vuitton Women Fall/Winter 09

2_Madonna_1 Louis Vuitton featured Madonna as the face of their women’s Fall/Winter 09 Collection. Seems like there’s going to a lot of leathers with monogram prints this season. We’re Loving how much temple the dresses exposes and the richness and depth the photo effect adds to the colors.

Tokidoki x Onitsuka Tiger Fabre

Tokidoki-x-Onitsuka-Tiger-Fabre-01
Tokidoki were one of the first to do a legit LeSportSac collab, and although the aesthetic is very Hello Kitty, these dudes reside in Italy. An interesting establishment. Now they’re working with Onitsuka Tiger on the mid cut Fabre sneaker. Tokidoki’s signature characters adorn every facet of these from the sole to the lining and everywhere in between.
